Hayden often wants to stay home while I run and pick up Addie from school in the afternoons.  There was no exception on Friday except I felt I should teach him about strangers.  I was explaining that if the phone rings and he happens to answer it, he is not to tell anyone that I am not here but that I am busy.  If it was a bad person on the other end, and Hayden told him that I wasn't home then he might come over a kidnap him.  Hayden's response was "Well mom, I know karate.  So I could just do that on him."  He was totally serious so I said I would rather him not have to use his karate on a stranger, but good thinking.
